Morty was born in Chattanooga and has been a part of this community his entire life. His father, Mort Lloyd, was Chattanooga’s first television broadcaster, was well known and respected. His mother, Marilyn Lloyd, was the first woman from Tennessee elected to the United States Congress. She held that office for 20 years and left a legacy of community service.  Like his parents, Morty has spent his career serving others. For the last 29 years, he has served as Senior Pastor for Chattanooga Church.
